Design and manufacturing

Optimal mixer design starts with the application / current installation evaluation. We address the mixer configuration, performance, process and mechanical problems which need to be resolved.
Once the application is clear and the process data is collected and evaluated, principal suggestions are issued and through negotiations with the client the scope of work is decided.

Using advanced in-house software, the calculations are being made. The mixer is configured with focus on:

  • structural / mechanical integrity and safety,
  • high efficiency,
  • corrosion and abrasion resistance,
  • reasonable CapEx and low OpEx.

Mixer and gearbox configuration, impellers, materials of construction, sensors and accessories are selected and applied taking in account the extensive Mixtec experience in process industries and tens of thousands of installed agitators worldwide.

A vast historical database allows Mixtec to find the optimal execution for each application.

Metals

Stainless, lean / duplex / super duplex, exotic alloys and special materials (eg. 304L, 316L, 904L (1.4539), Alloy 20, Alloy 31, LDX2101 (1.4162), SAF 2205 (1.4462), SAF 2507 (1.4410), F255 (1.4507), Titanium, Hastelloys, Inconel and others).

Lining / coating

Soft Natural Rubber, Chlorobutyl, Bromobutyl, Nitrile, Ebonite, Fibre Glass (GRP), Epoxy Paints. Polishing, Halar and Ultralar (ECTFE).

Thorough services are available.

If needed, the engineering stage can include CFD simulation of the advised unit, lab and pilot testing.

Engineering companies and design houses are aided with Autocad general arrangement drawings and if needed, 3D models.

Mixtec can boast commissioned mechanical agitators operating in tanks larger than 6000 cubic meters, with agitator systems in excess of more than 38 tons, impellers manufactured over 7.6 meters in diameter and with shaft lengths of over 21 meters. For such applications, Mixtec’s Series 4000 heavy-duty agitator drives are available in standard models up to 450 kW but can easily be upgraded to suit the application.
