Mixtec history

Mixtec was founded in Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa in 1984. Decades of prior experience dating back to the 1930's helped Mixtec grow quickly into the multinational company it is today.


Mixtec's fabrication facilities around the world (including South Africa, Australia, USA, UK, Chile, Malaysia) support local clients, in addition we have a number of specialized licensees and agents managing territories not covered by the Mixtec branches.

Today, Mixtec is one of the world’s premier manufacturers of industrial agitators and mixers as well as one of the market leaders in such fields like mining and metallurgy.

Mixtec is one of the few agitator producers who have delivered mixing solutions to most the top mining / metallurgy corporations like but not limited to: Glencore, BHP Billiton, Anglo American, Rio Tinto, Antofagasta, First Quantum Minerals, Goldfields, B2Gold, Polyus, ERG, Codelco, Southern Peru Copper, Kazakhmys, Kaz Minerals, OCP, Foskor.

Mixtec has and is closely working with well-known engineering / EPC companies like: Ausenco, DRA Global, FLSmidth, Bechtel, Fluor, Hatch, Glencore Technology, Weir Minerals, Tenova Advanced Technologies, Amec Foster Wheeler, Outotec, Paterson and Cooke, Thyssenkrupp, Worley and Parsons.
